GAMA Events - Picnic 2005

The Annual Family picnic of GAMA was held at the Fort Yargo Natural park, Winder GA on Saturday, July 9th, 2005. More than hundred GAMA members, families and other interested malayali friends participated in the event. The program started at 11:30 in the morning and finished at 5:00 PM in the evening. The bright and pleasant Saturday, with the till then heavy rain taking a break for a day, became a memorable occasion for the Malayali community to enjoy a wonderful time.

GAMA 2005 President welcomed the gathering formally. The event was more of an informal get-together. The Karaoke music presented by members with Sathish Menon and Sunny Thaliath in the forefront, enthralled the members and literally vibrated the Nature Center Pavilion.

A sumptuous Bar-B-Queue feast was organized under the leadership of Johny Joseph, Jt Secretary and Saju Samuel, Chairman, Food Committee. Vice President Regi Cherian and Manoj Thomas also participated. The members really enjoyed the Bar-B-Que, burgers, hot dogs and the variety of other items.

Various Sports and Games were also organized, mainly by Treasurer Shajan Joseph, Santhosh Melekalathil and Reena Jacob. There were competitions for Candy Picking, Ball Passing, Shot-put, Tug-of-war, Short Distance Running etc. There was also a contest for identifying the Best Couple of Atlanta.

The details of the winners of the various competitions are given below. The prizes for the winners will be distributed during the Onam Celebrations of GAMA at Berkmar Highschool, on Saturday, September 10, 2005.
